World Halal Summit, Halal Expo to be held next month in Istanbul

(MENAFN) The upcoming World Halal Summit and Halal Expo in Istanbul next month aims to create new avenues for trade and commercial diplomacy through country business forums and business-to-business (B2B) sessions.

Under the patronage of the Turkish Presidency and in partnership with the Islamic Cooperation Organization, the four-day event will take place at the Istanbul Fair Center from November 26 to 29, according to reports.

B2B meetings, particularly beneficial for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), are designed to help manufacturers showcase their products, expand export networks, and accelerate branding, while promoting the global reach of exports. Country business forums will allow international investors to learn about the investment potential of participating nations through presentations and success stories, boosting foreign investment and enhancing perceptions of countries as investable destinations.

These interactions contribute not only to economic growth but also to employment, technology transfer, and increased production capacity. Beyond commercial ties, the forums encourage scientific, technological, and sectoral collaborations in areas such as health, tourism, energy, digital transformation, agriculture, and construction, thereby strengthening innovation and competitiveness.

The events also help raise countries’ brand value and international visibility, with country pavilions, promotional activities, and media coverage highlighting their production capabilities and economic strength. The summit will host forums for Oman, Yemen, Tunisia, and Palestine, featuring high-level participation from the respective countries.

According to Yunus Ete, president of the World Halal Summit Council, the forums and B2B meetings at the 11th edition of the summit “offer important opportunities,” with the Oman forum being the first leg of Türkiye-Oman cooperation, held in partnership with DEIK’s Türkiye-Oman Business Council and the Oman Chamber of Commerce.

“We held productive meetings with the Oman Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Oman Chamber of Commerce, and other officials on cooperation opportunities in the fields of defense, energy, tourism, health, food, and logistics,” Ete said. He added that the Yemen, Palestine, and Tunisia forums will further highlight new trade potentials.

Last year, the World Halal Summit attracted over 50,000 visitors, with more than 500 participants from over 50 countries and attendance from over 100 visiting nations, reinforcing its role as a dynamic hub for international trade and economic diplomacy.
