Minno Remains Independent and Urges Buyers to Verify A Minno Device

The rugged hardware maker remains unchanged. Only Minno-authorized devices carry Minno's quality control, warranty, U.S.-based service, and fleet software.

SANTA BARBARA, CA, UNITED STATES, September 8, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- Minno LLC, which designs, builds, and supports fully rugged tablets, panel PCs, vehicle PCs, and edge AI hardware for industrial and government customers, today confirmed that it remains an independent company operating under its own name and ownership. Minno has not been renamed, acquired, merged, dissolved, or rebranded. It continues to sell in Mexico and across Latin America through its own channels and through authorized partners that provide local-language sales and support.

The company issued the statement in response to customer questions about whether Minno now operates under a different name. It does not.

Why the source of a rugged tablet matters

Rugged tablets have become easy to source with overseas manufacturers pushing hardware in N America. Several sellers offer devices that look alike, and some may even buy from the same contract factories that supply established brands. The device in the photo may even share the same housing as a Minno product. What it does not necessarily share is the same quality components, and everything Minno does before a device reaches our customers, and everything Minno does to support it over the life of the tablet.

That gap is widening. The 2026 memory shortage, driven by AI data centers absorbing most of the world's DRAM output, has put cost pressure on low-priced builds, and shortages are when component substitutions happen. Minno's triple-layer quality control includes verification of the components inside the device, not just a cursory check that it powers on. Every Minno device passes Minno's triple-layer quality control and software validation before it ships. Once deployed, it is backed by the U.S.-based service team in California that handles repair or device swap and answers the phone, working alongside Minno's authorized partners in Mexico; a hardware warranty against materials and workmanship; and Minno Fleet, the company's device management platform for Android, plus Microsoft Autopilot and Intune support for Windows, so IT can provision, lock down, and update a fleet without touching each unit. Over-the-air firmware and security updates ship from Minno for the life of the hardware. Devices sourced outside authorized channels do not receive those updates.

Minno also provides custom pre-provisioning and branded devices for resellers, integrators, and enterprise fleets. In Minno's field experience, most rugged tablet failures trace back to a bad mount or docking station rather than a bad tablet, which is why Minno sells purpose-built mounting systems for forklifts, vehicles, and fixed stations alongside the devices.

"Buyers should not have to guess who backs a device with our name on it," said Eric C. Ryan, CEO and Co-Founder of Minno. "When a customer buys from Minno, they are not buying a piece of hardware. They are buying performance and return on investment over years of reliable use."

More than tablets: edge AI

Minno's line covers the Maverick family of 8 to 13.3 inch fully rugged Android tablets with 5G and IP68 sealing; the Intrepid Android tablet with ATEX certification for oil, gas, and chemical environments; Intrepid and Challenger Windows 11 Pro tablets; Endurance rugged laptops; the Apex handheld with built-in 2D scanner; Slate panel PCs from 10.1 to 21.5 inches; Volt vehicle-mount PCs; and LumenX sunlight-readable monitors at 1,500 to 2,000 nits. A separate TAA-compliant line serves U.S. federal, state, and grant-funded buyers.

Minno's edge AI-ready devices include the Maverick A8Z tablet, which carries a 12 TOPS neural processing unit and runs vision and language models directly on the device with no network connection. Sherpa, Minno's fixed-station AI acceleration box, pairs with tablets for camera-based inspection where multiple cameras and controlled lighting are involved.

How to verify a Minno product or partner

Minno urges enterprise, industrial, and government buyers to verify device authenticity before purchase or deployment. Devices sold outside Minno's authorized channels are not tested to Minno's standards and do not qualify for Minno's warranty, service, or software updates. Buyers can confirm authorized sources at Minno's support page.
