California Department of Food and Agriculture Now Accepting Proposals for 2026 Ag Plate Grants
SACRAMENTO, October 5, 2026 – The California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) is now accepting proposals for the 2026 California Agriculture Special Interest License Plate (CalAgPlate) grant program. Approximately $230,000 in grant funding is available to support agricultural education and leadership activities for students at the K-12, post-secondary and adult education levels.
The CalAgPlate program is funded through the sale of agriculture-themed license plates offered by the California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV).
Eligible applicants include:
- State-adopted Agricultural Education Programs (Education Code Section 52450-52454)
- Government agencies
- Non-profit organizations that administer agricultural education programs
Applications must be submitted by Monday, November 2, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. PT.
